“I had the privilege of working alongside Julie Nelson as an Early Childhood Education Specialist at the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida, and I can say with confidence that she brings unmatched expertise, professionalism, and passion to her work.”
Julie has a true gift for training, coaching, and mentoring early childhood professionals in a way that is both practical and inspiring. She listens deeply, offers thoughtful guidance, and empowers educators to implement meaningful strategies that truly make a difference in their classrooms. Her ability to connect with people, adapt to their needs, and provide clear, actionable support sets her apart as a consultant.

What I appreciate most about Julie is her openness to learning and collaboration. Her professionalism, deep knowledge of early childhood education, and genuine care for the people she serves make her an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to strengthen their programs and support their staff.

Althea Elliott, Director
“As a new early childhood Director, I greatly appreciated her support and guidance.”
Julie Nelson is a highly experienced early childhood educator with many years of dedicated service in the field. Her strong knowledge of child development, classroom practices, and family engagement is evident in all that she does. As a new early childhood Director, I greatly appreciated her support and guidance. She shared her expertise, helped me navigate daily operations, offered thoughtful problem-solving, and provided encouragement during my transition into leadership. Her professionalism, generosity, and heart for children, families, and educators truly stand out, and she is a gift to any school she serves.
Early Learning Coalition Supervisor
I worked with and supervised Julie Nelson for a number of years during her time working at the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida. She provided expertise to child care providers with site visits, phone TA, and written support.
Ms. Nelson’s ability to communicate easily with child care providers allowed her to also provide professional development opportunities in diverse subjects such as curricula, classroom management, assessment and character building. She was trained to use the protocols of IACET (International Association of Continuing Education and Training) which allowed the issuance of continuing education units through the accreditation of the Coalition. This continuing education allowed child care providers to earn credits to renew their credentials as required by the Department of Children and Families (DCF), as well as for the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program.

Ms. Nelson worked well with a variety of individuals, and was supportive of her co-workers. She initiated programs to help providers in inner city settings to develop support systems, as well as to facilitate the distribution of needed materials. Her willingness to step up and share her expertise benefitted many providers, both in child care centers and family child care settings. Her meticulous attention to data and required paperwork helped many directors to set up systems of bookkeeping and to meet the DCF requirements.

I recommend Ms. Nelson as a resource for child care providers in the above capacities, as well as many others.
